The Weight You're Carrying
Sound Familiar?
- You keep having the same argument, just with new details each time.
- You're doing everything right on paper — career, home, family — and still feel disconnected at home.
- Trust has become something you track, not something you feel.
- You've tried therapy before and it didn't move fast enough for what you're dealing with.
- You want a clear plan forward, not just a place to vent once a week.
You Don't Need to Be in Crisis to Deserve Real Help
Most people wait until things are unbearable before they call a therapist. You don't
have to. Whether it's a specific betrayal or a slow drift that's been building for
years, this work starts wherever you actually are — not wherever feels dramatic enough
to justify asking for help.
That's the whole point of showing up early.
- You're not "too fine" to need support — most people who come here aren't in a full crisis
- Infidelity, disconnection, or a relationship decision you've been putting off
- You want real progress, not a standing weekly appointment that goes nowhere
- You'd prefer a therapist outside your immediate community
- You're ready to treat this like the investment it actually is
How I Can Help
Three Ways We Work Together
Betrayal Trauma & Relationship Therapy
Structured support for processing betrayal and deciding what comes next — without pretending it's simple.
Learn more →Couples Therapy
Direct couples work aimed at real change, not just a weekly place to vent.
Learn more →Therapy Intensives
A single concentrated block of time to get further than months of standard sessions typically allow.
Learn more →Why an Intensive Outperforms a Year of Weekly Sessions
Weekly therapy moves at the speed of a calendar. An intensive moves at the speed of the work itself — a half-day or full-day block where we can actually finish what we start instead of picking it back up seven days later.
Livingston clients tend to use intensives one of two ways: as a running start before ongoing weekly work, or as dedicated time to work through one specific thing — an affair, a repeated argument, a decision that's been stuck for months.
Where clinically appropriate, intensives can also include Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), delivered in partnership with Journey Clinical — a combination not every practice in the area offers.
"We honestly didn't realize how much of a difference having extra time would make. We'd been seeing Alexandria for weekly therapy and making progress, but our intensive completely changed the pace of our work. Instead of stopping right when we were getting somewhere, we had the time to keep going, uncover what was really happening underneath our arguments, and actually practice communicating differently. It felt like months of therapy condensed into a single day. We both walked away feeling more connected, more hopeful, and with tools we're still using. If you're on the fence about an intensive, do it. It was one of the best investments we've made in our relationship."

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Individual sessions are $250 for 45 minutes or $350 for an extended 60-minute session. Couples and family sessions are $300 for 45 minutes or $350 for 60 minutes. This is a private-pay practice — see below for how out-of-network reimbursement works.
-
Individual intensives range from $500 for 90 minutes up to $1,800 for a full 6-hour intensive, which can be split across two consecutive days. Couples and family intensives range from $600 to $2,400 for the same time blocks. EMDR and art-therapy-integrated intensives follow the same structure and include preparation and integration planning.
-
Intensives are available in 90-minute, 2-hour, 3-hour, or full 6-hour blocks, so you can choose the depth that matches what you need — a focused single topic in 90 minutes, or a full day of work in 6 hours, which can also be split across two consecutive days.
-
Betrayal trauma often shows up as intrusive thoughts about the betrayal, hypervigilance or checking behaviors, trouble sleeping, emotional numbness, and a shaken sense of trust in your own judgment. These are trauma responses, not a sign that something is wrong with you — and they're very treatable.
-
Many relationships not only survive infidelity but become more honest and connected than before — when both partners are willing to do the work. Recovery isn't guaranteed, and it isn't quick, but it's more possible than most people believe going in.
-
It varies. Some couples notice a shift in communication within 6 to 10 sessions of focused work. Longer-standing patterns, like rebuilding trust after a betrayal, often benefit from an intensive to jump-start the work, followed by ongoing weekly sessions.
-
Yes. Ketamine is legal when prescribed off-label by a licensed medical provider and administered under medical supervision — which is how it's delivered here, through a partnership with Journey Clinical. It's not self-administered or recreational use.
-
No — this practice is private-pay only. Sessions are eligible for out-of-network reimbursement, and Mentaya is available to handle the superbill submission and insurance follow-up for you, so you're not stuck doing the paperwork yourself.
-
Yes. Sessions are available virtually anywhere in New Jersey, as well as in person at the Montclair office, a short drive from Livingston. Many Livingstonclients choose a mix of both.
-
A free 15-minute call to talk through what's going on, answer your questions about fit and format, and figure out next steps together — no pressure to book afterward.
-
Most local practices offer weekly talk therapy alone. Here, couples and individuals also have access to therapy intensives — extended, concentrated sessions — and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy through a partnership with Journey Clinical, for clients who want to move faster or go deeper than standard weekly sessions allow.
