The Weight You're Carrying
Sound Familiar?
- You found something you weren't supposed to — a text, a charge, a late night that didn't add up — and you haven't fully exhaled since.
- You're both exhausted from having the same fight, in different words, for years.
- You're the one everyone leans on, but it's never been clear who you're supposed to lean on.
- A once-a-week, 50-minute session hasn't been enough space to actually get somewhere.
- You don't know yet if you're rebuilding this relationship or grieving it — and not knowing is its own weight.
Built for Couples Who Are Used to Handling Things Themselves
Most of the couples I work with from Glen Ridge are high-achievers everywhere else in
life — careers, kids' schedules, the house, the extended family. This is often the one
area that hasn't responded to effort alone.
- Professionals and executives used to solving problems, stuck on this one
- Couples rebuilding trust after an affair or a breach of trust
- Partners who've tried weekly therapy before and want faster, deeper work
- Clients who value discretion and a therapist who understands image and privacy
- Glen Ridge and Essex County couples who want in-person care close to home, or virtual sessions that fit demanding schedules

Three Ways We Work Together
Betrayal Trauma & Relationship Therapy
Structured, trauma-informed support for rebuilding trust and stability after an affair or breach of trust — for Glen Ridge individuals and couples.
Learn more →Couples Therapy
Evidence-based couples work for partners ready to break repetitive patterns and reconnect — without waiting a year to see progress.
Learn more →Therapy Intensives
Multi-hour, focused sessions for couples and individuals who need concentrated time to move through something significant — often faster than weekly sessions allow.
Learn more →What a Therapy Intensive Actually Looks Like
Instead of one 50-minute session a week, an intensive gives us a half-day or full-day block of concentrated time — enough space to actually get into what's going on, rather than spending the first twenty minutes of every session catching back up.
Most Glen Ridge couples and individuals use intensives either to jump-start work before moving into ongoing weekly sessions, or as a stand-alone reset when something specific — an affair, a decision point, a recurring fight — needs focused attention now rather than spread out over several months.
For clients who are a fit, intensives can also incorporate Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), offered in partnership with Journey Clinical, for a deeper level of processing than talk therapy alone.
"We honestly didn't realize how much of a difference having extra time would make. We'd been seeing Alexandria for weekly therapy and making progress, but our intensive completely changed the pace of our work. Instead of stopping right when we were getting somewhere, we had the time to keep going, uncover what was really happening underneath our arguments, and actually practice communicating differently. It felt like months of therapy condensed into a single day. We both walked away feeling more connected, more hopeful, and with tools we're still using. If you're on the fence about an intensive, do it. It was one of the best investments we've made in our relationship."

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Individual sessions are $250 for 45 minutes or $350 for an extended 60-minute session. Couples and family sessions are $300 for 45 minutes or $350 for 60 minutes. This is a private-pay practice — see below for how out-of-network reimbursement works.
-
Individual intensives range from $500 for 90 minutes up to $1,800 for a full 6-hour intensive, which can be split across two consecutive days. Couples and family intensives range from $600 to $2,400 for the same time blocks. EMDR and art-therapy-integrated intensives follow the same structure and include preparation and integration planning.
-
Intensives are available in 90-minute, 2-hour, 3-hour, or full 6-hour blocks, so you can choose the depth that matches what you need — a focused single topic in 90 minutes, or a full day of work in 6 hours, which can also be split across two consecutive days.
-
Betrayal trauma often shows up as intrusive thoughts about the betrayal, hypervigilance or checking behaviors, trouble sleeping, emotional numbness, and a shaken sense of trust in your own judgment. These are trauma responses, not a sign that something is wrong with you — and they're very treatable.
-
Many relationships not only survive infidelity but become more honest and connected than before — when both partners are willing to do the work. Recovery isn't guaranteed, and it isn't quick, but it's more possible than most people believe going in.
-
It varies. Some couples notice a shift in communication within 6 to 10 sessions of focused work. Longer-standing patterns, like rebuilding trust after a betrayal, often benefit from an intensive to jump-start the work, followed by ongoing weekly sessions.
-
Yes. Ketamine is legal when prescribed off-label by a licensed medical provider and administered under medical supervision — which is how it's delivered here, through a partnership with Journey Clinical. It's not self-administered or recreational use.
-
No — this practice is private-pay only. Sessions are eligible for out-of-network reimbursement, and Mentaya is available to handle the superbill submission and insurance follow-up for you, so you're not stuck doing the paperwork yourself.
-
Yes. Sessions are available virtually anywhere in New Jersey, as well as in person at the Montclair office, a short drive from Glen Ridge. Many Glen Ridge clients choose a mix of both.
-
A free 15-minute call to talk through what's going on, answer your questions about fit and format, and figure out next steps together — no pressure to book afterward.
